Imagine Dan's struggle against his enemy in his own body. Imagine failing the first two rounds because he can't go ahead hurting his best friend. Imagine him shedding a tear under the mask at the final strike.

Imagine Drago, through their bond, finally recognizing Dan in his last moments and willingly take the hit. Imagine Dan seeing his best friend sucked to a world of death because of him.

Imagine Dan's emotional breakdown as he finally gets his partner back and swears he'll never let go of him ever again.

Jdiwjwhe I HAVE A MESSED UP IDEA FOR BAKUSWAP. Klaus got Preyas after sending him to the Doom Dimension, right? What if Dan as Masquerade... sent his friends' Bakugans to the Doom Dimension, retrieved them and explained to them the situation? That way they'd help out, and he could always retrieve the lost Bakugans to their owners ("More Bakugans means more for Hydranoid to defeat and become stronger... jackass."/ "You've really been nice lately")

Ok but I had a tiny Dan x Joe (...x Alice?) thought for Bakuswap.

Dan as Masquerade goes to Joe's since Wavern is with him and tries to explain the situation. Joe agrees to help hide him while he's looking to stop the real Masquerade and lets him crash at his place.

Thing is, Dan often faints of exhaustion after teleporting back and wakes up as Alice at times. Leading her to be grateful towards Joe for finding her and helping her recover even if she doesn't remember why or how while her friends make assumptions about Alice "mysteriously" being at Joe's house all the time.

He and Wavern keep everything a secret to avoid the potential panic, and also help hide Hydranoid and the others whenever Dan is back to being Alice (also lets Drago catch up with his gf with no one but his fellow Bakugans to comment).

Basically the Jekyll/Hyde non-lethal version of "and they were roommates".
