Submitter’s propaganda under the cut
The Sanctuaire diocésain du Sacré-Coeur, Route de Balata, Martinique, was erected in 1925 by refugees from the devastating eruption of Mount Pelée in 1902.
Today was another fun yet hectic day, painting at Balata Refugee Camp in Palestine. This local young cop asked me to paint his home with an “evil eye” to protect him from attackers. His dad was murdered at 21, and has 3 uncles in jail, so he wants a better future than them. My sweet Arianne @themetanoist painted close by too n the people she painted for had us over for a humble dinner. Some new artists arrived to paint with us today too like @himbad @muebon and @el.7mz along @sebtoussaint and @c.gazaleh . Thanks to @beyondusnonprofit for organizing this, who are still accepting donations to fund this project! #balatarefugeecamp #balata #palestine #volunteer #spraypaint #mural #evileye #protection #hectic #service (at Balata Camp) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2FSrPyHYwl/?igshid=joui5px6bm7u

Me:WHOSE THAT MADMAN...
So this morning, while most of Balata Refugee Camp’s kids where still at school, I finished my first Palestinian mural. It’s a magic horse, which looks more like a camel I think, that is an imaginary creature that only lives in Balata, special to them. On his lip it said “Optimism”, which is what these people need in this time of despair. The guy on this pic is one of the many people living in this building (average 10 people per apartment) who was offering me coffee as I took the picture. Then the kids came out of school and got them in the shot too. I think they like their new happy pet, even if they might find it strange. It was one of the hardest murals I’ve painted so far, but happy to cheer them up in any way and I’ll be back for more painting on Friday. #freepalestine #balata #refugeecamp #balatarefugeecamp #mural #spraypaint #streetart #artivism #horse #camel #palestine (at Balata Camp) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1_oUxBHqyA/?igshid=d43m3844jncn
