Merkara and teaching for facts ask

If you need a teacher who will guide you and show you right from wrong, you definitely should look somewhere else. Merkara provides her apprentices with factual knowledge and tools and a bit of advice, but then she pretty much leaves them to their own devices.

Due to her rather laissez-faire approach to teaching, her apprentices choose very different paths. She has an apprentice who leans toward the light, another apprentice who becomes darker than she has ever been, and another one who doesn’t care about the light and dark as long as there are results.

She is very critical of the Sith Order and she doesn’t think that becoming a Sith is the best option for all Force-sensitives everywhere. After all, she didn’t choose this life in the first place, so she is not going to take that choice away from someone else. You do you.

When it comes to teaching her own children, she makes sure that they get to learn from people with very different perspectives on the Force. She wants them to reach their own conclusions on everything, even if it means that they are going to make lots of mistakes along the way. This is probably why all of her children aren’t affiliated with any Orders, deciding to pursue very ordinary professions in the end.

This is what I expected for Liran. He has a bit of Slytherin in him but not enough to outweigh his typically Ravenclaw traits. Information and knowledge are everything for him, he survives and achieves his goals by knowing something that others don’t.

Characteristics: systematic, prefers structure, disciplined, desires the predictability of routine and habit, responsible, does things by the book, meets obligations on time, uncomfortable with imperfection, hard working, serious, practical, plans ahead, focuses on achieving goals, cautious, more logical than abstract, not easily distracted, law abiding, detail oriented and sometimes obsessed, prefers the familiar to the unfamiliar.

Every word is true, I’m surprised how accurate this result is. The test also indicated that Liran is an unhealthy type 1, which is very obsessive compulsive, and it makes me worry about my boy.

I have no idea how I got this result for Ra’enar. I don’t see any significant similarities except for the fact that people prefer to avoid him whenever possible, and if he shows up at your home when you don’t expect him… oh boy, you’re in so much trouble. He also feels fully justified about destroying lives, he doesn’t act on a whim and would only punish those who deserve it from his point of view.

Would there be a character they don’t like? Would that cause you to choose sides?

He will have so many issues with Scourge being on the same ship as him, but they will find common ground eventually. He will watch Elara closely before deciding that’s she’s not a spy and deserves his trust. I think every possible conflict that he might have with others would be resolved one way or another because of his ability to look into the hearts of others through the Force and seeing them for who they truly are.

Do they know any other in game characters?

He met Ashara before the class stories and helped to train her as a more experienced padawan. He knows Kira from Tython, but they don’t get along all that much. Also, he’s on good terms with Satele Shan, who helped him with containing his emotions.

What letters would they send post vanilla class story/SOR/KOTFE

He loves letters and he’s good at writing them, so expect a lot. And expect them to be long, thoughtful, and full of details. It’s easier for him to express his thoughts in writing, so while he’s not going to be particularly chatty in dialogues, his letters will compensate for it.

do you believe in ghosts? why or why not?

Merkara, age 16: Ghosts? I think I’ve read something about those in Lord Aravir’s books, but there wasn’t much. And I haven’t seen any ghosts myself, but I would love to, if only to make sure that they exist. The idea of life after death is intriguing, even if it’s a very limited kind of life in a powerless incorporeal form. Yes, I’d like to believe that those books weren’t lying. And I’d like to know more. For example, can you hurt a ghost? Just imagine this: you’ve killed someone, but that person comes back as a ghost. And you can hurt them again, and again, and again because they can’t die! Sounds marvelous, doesn’t it? 

did you have any in real life inspiration for your OC?

I’ve thought really hard on this one, but no, nothing comes to mind. I mostly get inspiration from simple random things like songs, quotes, aesthetics, etc.which harry potter house are they in?

Ahh, so many good questions, thank you! So let’s start with Merkara (and I’m finally gonna give an explanation why she doesn’t always have scars, like on this screenshot)

What alignment are they? Chaotic neutral, lawful evil, et cetera…

*slaps Merkara* this bad girl can fit so much character development! Basically, she went from Neutral Evil to Chaotic Neutral, moved on to True Neutral and ended up as Neutral Good. It was a very long journey.

What’s one of your OC’s proudest moments of themselves?

When she got rid of her scars. It wasn’t for aesthetic reasons, she made a promise that she won’t do anything about the scars as long as the people who hurt her and her family remain unpunished. When she completed her revenge list, she could finally turn to plastic surgery, and it was such a cathartic moment for her, like she was finally leaving the past behind.

Do they have people they are genuinely honest with about themselves?

Her crew when she learns to trust them. Then Lana and Theron appear in her life, and she learns to trust them too. It’s a slow and gradual process in both cases, but there comes a point when she doesn’t feel the need to hide something from them or to pretend to be someone she is not.

Do they believe people change over time? If so, is it a natural process or does it take effort?

She is a living proof that people change over time, so it would be rather hypocritical of her not to believe that others can change as well. But a person must genuinely want to change and understand where this desire comes from, otherwise it just won’t happen.

What’s their ideal home look like? Where is it?

That stronghold on Yavin 4 comes very close to her vision of an ideal home. She likes when there’s lots of space, she would rather be close to nature than civilization, and an extra opportunity to constantly learn from her environment would be great. Most importantly, however, an ideal home is a safe place where the world can’t hurt her.

Under what situations would they get angry at servers, staff, customer service, et cetera?

Since I’ve answered this one for Merkara, I’d go with Darryn because I barely ever mention my awful green bean.

He’s pretty chill most of the time, he would only get angry if inconvenienced or not taken seriously. For example, if he comes to an expensive restaurant with stuck-up servers who think that trash like him doesn’t belong there — oh, he will be sooo angry.

Which OC do you think is the most decent morally or behaviorally?  AKA, which is supposed to a “good guy”?

That would be Meerax.

She just cares about people so much, she would never jeopardize someone’s life, safety, and well-being for a “greater good”. She wouldn’t even harm her enemies or obviously terrible individuals because all life is sacred for her. She just wants everyone to be happy and at peace, and she doesn’t care if it makes her sound overly idealistic.

Which OC do you think is the worst morally or behaviorally? AKA, which is supposed to be a “bad guy”?

My warrior siblings — Ra’enar and Ishalea.

They have some redeeming qualities, but overall? They’re the worst. Ishi is a merciless sadist who sees the world as her playground and people as her puppets. Ra’enar just sees people as resources to be used and discarded, this guy didn’t bat an eyelid when Vitiate destroyed Ziost. Both believe that they know better than everyone else, you must accept their opinions as universal truths or you’re gonna die.

What’s the longest you’ve had an OC for?

About three years. I’ve had an OC family in Harry Potter fandom, came up with six generations and cared about each of them very much.

Heyyy, if it's not too late, from an ancient oc ask: conspiracy theory: what are your OC’s beliefs? are they skeptics or do they believe easily? who acts on blind faith? who needs to see to believe?

It’s never too late :3My characters aren’t into religion in its traditional sense, but some of them have substitutes for omnipresent divine powers to worship and believe in. 

Meerax is probably the one who is closest to being religious because she believes in everything at once. There is the Force above and beyond all things, but it has numerous manifestations. So why would Meerax reject or doubt any religious tradition if it could just represent the almighty energy of life in some way? It’s not her place to judge whose interpretation of the universe is more accurate. For all she knows, they’re all right. 

Seidala worships the Empire. This devotion shapes her decisions, gives her direction, and becomes an inseparable part of who she is. It’s definitely unhealthy because it’s closer to fanaticism than faith, but she can’t think of any other way to give her life meaning. 

Merkara believes in herself. She got a bit carried away with her cult, positioning herself as a divinity of sorts. Although her self-obsession decreased over the years, she still thinks that she can reshape the galaxy according to the perfect image in her head, create the world anew. 

Iliraa, on the other hand, is as skeptical as one can get. She doesn’t believe in anything and angrily rejects all belief systems. Moranai, Essaia, and Darryn aren’t far behind her on this, they’re very down-to-earth and would always want verifiable evidence. Darryn and Essaia are particularly suspicious, give them something that can see with their own eyes or leave them alone. 

I could go on with this for every character, but there are so many, it would be more than you’re asking for.
