So if didn’t read my previous post, I recently found 2 bald spots on my head. I went to the doctor today and he told me that i have an autoimmune disease called alopecia areata. The good news is that this kind of alopecia is highly treatable. The bad news is that I’m going to be at a higher risk for other autoimmune diseases like such as thyroid disease or vitiligo. I’m waiting for the dermatologist to call me and make an appointment with me. I’ll keep y’all posted 😊

If anyone has tips for covering bald spots at school I would really appreciate if you sent them to me. I’ve got a bad bald spot on the top of my head and at the moment it doesn’t have any new growth but I’m getting self conscious about seeing it because it’s from a relapse.

I see lots of posts about how scars and stretch marks are beautiful but what about bald spots?

People with cancer who's hair never grew back in certain places or at all. People with trich who's hair gets pulled out, resulting in bald spots. Other people who have bald spots for varying reasons. You're beautiful too. Sure, they may not be pretty. But they're apart of you. And it's okay. Just because they're not pretty, doesn't mean YOU are any less pretty.

If you ever feel bad about having a receding hairline line or going bald just remember the smartest man in the universe has a bald spot.
