Ball HPU MBBR Media: What It Is and How It Works
What it is: Ball HPU is a moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) media made of hydrophilic polyurethane (HPU) with a spherical shape. Its sponge-like structure allows it to float and move freely in the reactor.
How it works: The hydrophilic HPU material quickly absorbs water and promotes rapid attachment of microorganisms. These microorganisms decompose organic matter, reducing BOD (biochemical oxygen demand) and COD (chemical oxygen demand). It's suitable for nitrification and denitrification stages in wastewater treatment.
Key Benefits:
Maximizes biofilm growth for efficient water treatment
Flexible and durable in various reactor setups
Supports both municipal and industrial wastewater applications
