Trail of Highways ™ Colorado Springs Balloon Classic 2013 The Colorado Balloon Classic (a division of Colorado Springs Balloon Classic, Inc.) was organized in 1977 and has grown to be the largest and the longest continuously running hot air balloon festival in the Rocky Mountain Region as well as the State of Colorado. The Colorado Balloon Classic is no longer, very unfortunate. RoadTrek TV Production http://roadtrek.tv http://trekingear.com/shop

Thanks Colorado Springs for Destroying Small Businesses
I am seeing on the news that the Balloon Classic may not be able to hold its annual event next year because the city is requesting an additional $24,000 to provide for “safety” – barricades and more police officers. The person who runs the event says that this is a hard hit for them as a small business – yeah, I am sure it is. They should be outraged.
Colorado Springs is forgetting about how…

The Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic: Celebrating 103 Years of Aviation in Idaho
Imagine vibrant hot air balloons lined up across the width of stunning Ann Morrison Park as the sunsets over the Boise River. Each balloon lighting in perfect time with music playing in the background.
This picturesque scene and much more is waiting for you at the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic presented by Mattress Land Sleep Fit Center. Visit the beautiful Ann Morrison Park from August 28-September 1st to enjoy all five fantastic mornings of ballooning we have planned for you at this year’s event. 2013 marks the third decade of flight from Ann Morrison Park with this incarnation of the event originating in 1991 as part of the Boise River Festival. This year, celebrate with the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic as fifty hot air balloons take flight from a venue that is truly one of Boise’s most spectacular locations in all of ballooning, Ann Morrison Park. The Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic is a local, iconic tradition that’s alive and thriving year after year thanks to the ongoing support of its sponsors and partners whom have made it the perfect event for the entire family.
Since the first Balloon Classic produced by Scott Spencer and Steve Schmader for the Boise River Festival in 1991, our staff, volunteers and sponsors have supported and maintained the basic mission of the original event. The Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic is dedicated to providing an exciting, family-oriented production tailored to the community of citizens in the Treasure Valley, at no charge for any aspect of the event. This is the only event in Boise where you'll see families with children in pajamas spread their blankets in the park, eat a picnic breakfast and enjoy a mass launching of hot air balloons. The Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic truly encompassed a one-of-a-kind, family-friendly, community-based event that could only be found in the City of Trees.
Scott Spencer, World Famous Balloon Pilot, and the Visionary Founder/Director of the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic and Lighter Than Air America has been coordinating this unique event since the first balloon took flight. This year is very special to Spencer because it marks the 39th consecutive balloon rally held in Boise, Idaho. Spencer started piloting hot air balloons at a time when fewer than fifty could be found in the nation and on February 18, 2013 he celebrated the 42nd Anniversary of his first balloon flight. Spencer and his wife Laurie work with a “Who’s Who” of this country’s biggest corporations including Coca-Cola, the Walt Disney Company, IMAX, Peak Broadcasting, and the Kellogg Company as a pilot and Corporate Ambassador for their hot air balloon programs. If you’re interested in seeing some of the most beautiful hot air balloons in the country with a few familiar faces be sure to plan a weekend for the whole family at the Boise Balloon Classic.
Ballooning begins on Wednesday, August 28 with inflation and lift off from Ann Morrison Park starting at 7:10 through Sunday morning September 1, 2013. On Friday evening, August 30 you’ll see hot air balloon demonstration inflations, hear live music, and enjoy a great selection of local food vendors available if you choose not to bring a picnic to the park. The actual balloon “ Night Glow” begins around 8:15pm. This is one of the coolest photo opportunities you may ever find so be sure to pack a camera! It goes without saying that “Night Glow” is by far the most popular attraction at the event--so come early to stake out your spot in the park. On Saturday at 7:10am we’ll be challenging our pilots with a navigational task. Where they will be required to fly away from Ann Morrison Park (and perhaps) be required to fly back to where they took off from! Keep in mind that our pilots can’t steer their balloons left or right. They’re always dependent on the direction of the wind for where they go, so if you love the trill of competition be sure to be at the Balloon Classic bright and early Saturday morning. Finally, Sunday is Theresa McLeod Day or better known as the "Last Dance” the last scheduled inflation and launch of the 2013 Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic.
We’ll see you at Ann Morrison Park when the ballooning world returns to Boise, Idaho to color our skies for the 22nd Edition of the Spirit of Boise-Balloon Classic.
Please take a moment and “Friend” us on Facebook (Spirit of Boise) to stay informed as we wrap up the last minute details and visit the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic’s Website at http://www.spiritofboise.com for more information on this legendary, local event.
