Local Event: 2nd Friday Art Stroll in Berlin, MD
I went to the 2nd Friday Art Stroll in Berlin, MD for the very first time! For those of you who don't know, Berlin was voted "America's Coolest Small Town" a year or two ago, and it's a beautiful little historic town filled with arts and music and good people. It’s right before you hit the beach but kind of a little trek for me. It was a real adventure, let me tell you! I usually do Third Friday in Downtown Salisbury, but I have been trying to get to more events! I am even going to sign up for some Holiday versions! Verrrrry exciting!
This one was really nice. Little bit quiet compared to the one where I live, but lots of foot traffic, live music, and a great variety of vendors. I met some new friends and even saw some old ones from events that I have done in the past! The event consisted of two streets, and each person had their own 10' x 10' area. I don't use a tent because I like moving and groovin' so I had plenty of room to talk and walk around with customers and friends. We arrived a bit early so we stopped in to the bar to get happy hour beer and fries- duh. I sold some stuff- mostly paper packs, BJR beer books, and even a really nice mixed media drawing (one of my fans ever) so that was awesome. It wasn't terribly hot so people were in a good mood and I had some good conversation. I have said it before and I will continue to admit that I don't do these types of events to only sell work. I do it to see my overall stash and look at all my work as a whole. It's nice to really put a dent in some product inventory, but it's also nice just to talk about my own art with strangers and friends alike. It was a great night and I wanted to make sure I documented it!
Pics from last Friday’s Agents of Mayhem party in downtown Champaign, including a live rendition of “Heart of Steel” from some of our more musically inclined devs!
Yesterday we had the traditional event of our village. Gathering at the port after the boat race.
昨日は浜下りと言う集落のイベントです。昼間は舟こぎ大会、夜は港に集まって宴会、余興です。夏の始まりの風物詩です。
