Director: It's an Italian word meaning - wait no its french. It means with volume.

Me: baguette

Director: french toast

Me: french fries

Clarinet 2: are french fries even French?

Me: *being an intellectual* No, the first french fries were fried in grease(Greece)

Band room: *uncomfortable silence as people get the joke*

Director: what did they even fry things in?

Director: *furiously googles the cooking methods of the first french fry maker*

Do you guys have band lessons at your school? Like, once-a-week (or two weeks or six day cycle or whatever) sessions outside of band practice/band class where small groups of instruments get to miss a period of class during the day to go to the band room and get instruction from the director on technique/music theory/other technical musical stuff that's sometimes compromised in all the chaos of trying to learn notes and memorize music? I honestly never thought about if lessons were a standard thing or not, so is that just my school?
