how old were Tarrick and Wren when they met?what was his first thought when he saw her?
Thank ye kindly, friend!
By the time Wren came to live among the bandits, Tarrick had already been in charge for a few years and was around 31 when they first met. Wren ran away from home at the age of 11, then while on the road made the mistake of taking food from an unattended knapsack. Said knapsack belonged to one of Tarrick's highwaymen, who was on his way back to the fort from a scouting expedition (he happened to be just off the road relieving himself when she found his bag ripe for the taking) She was caught red handed, then brought back to the fort to be punished.
Upon seeing this scared and angry Dunmer kiddo being dumped on the floor of his quarters, Tarrick was... confused, to say the least. What was he going to do with a child? He refused to punish her, as he has a soft spot for kids - and Wren's fiery spirit reminded him of his young daughter who was killed only a few years prior.
He offered to let her go free, but she refused. She didn't want to go back home, and was afraid to head into any cities or towns in case she was found and forced back home. So, Tarrick allowed her to stay.
Besides, there was already a child residing in Fort Greymoor at that time, Agnis. If one kid could successfully live among a bunch of brigands, why couldn't another?
I actually shared a snippet of this prequel piece in an older WIP Wednesday post, if you're interested in reading that!
