Summary:

Gabe stares at him in complete silence for what feels like an eternity, expression now morphing from calm concern to ominous alarm. “Pete,” he starts, and it sounds like he’s talking to a small child who’s just painted all over the walls. “Did you piss off a witch?” “Did I what?”

Pete finds himself in a bit of a predicament, and in the ensuing chaos of hexes, warlocks and talking cobras, Patrick is the anchor that keeps him sane. - Set in late 2012.

i've got nothing to confess (yes)

Double drabble for @bandomflufffest prompts "You're blushing." and Confession.

I wanted to challenge myself by writing drabbles for these prompts that connected into a (somewhat) overarching narrative, so that's what this is! Some of them (including this first one) will be two prompts combined into a double drabble (200 words instead of 100).

Patrick doesn't want Pete to leave.

They've spent all day together, and he has to leave at some point, Patrick knows, but - he likes having Pete around, OK?

It's a strange feeling. Patrick has friends, he's not a total loser, thank you very much, but after an hour or two of their company, he wants to be alone. Patrick figured that was just how he was.

Now he's thinking that he just hadn't found Pete yet.

Eventually, though, Pete looks at him regretfully. "Guess I better go before your mom kicks me out."

Patrick nods, wanting to say something, tell Pete how much he means to him, but not sure how. He feels heat flood his cheeks.

He hears the smile in Pete's voice before he sees it. "Patrick, what is it? You're blushing!"

"Am not!" he snaps. Then, "It's just...I kinda sorta...love you. I don't want you to go."

He expects Pete to laugh, but when he looks up, he's deadly serious. Before he knows what's happening, Pete's leaning in, pressing his lips to Patrick's.

Patrick tenses, then jumps away. "I didn't mean it like that!" he stammers.

Pete's gone before Patrick can even reconsider his words.
