He’s just thankful it wasn’t raining when the guys forgot him yet again at a truck stop. Another phone call, another wave of apologies, more arguments and even more time wasted on the road.

He knows none of them meant to forget him, but fuck, does it still hurt.

There’s no point dwelling on it. He should try getting some sleep. He sits up, ready to position himself more comfortably, away from the lights. The van is paradoxically both spacious and claustrophobic.
