As seen on the blogs of @asaara-writes and @adventuresofmeghatron
I thought I'd have a crack at this too since I'm vaguely aware of having written alot this year. I was shocked at the result. Bearing in mind that some of my work is co-written, my Total Wordcount came to a whopping 242,861 of which I estimate to have personally written over 200,000 words.
Blimey! More on *how* that happened later.
Vincent, Undefined - the as yet unfinished prequel series to my longfic, 'Vincent, Redefined' (V,R), which eventually overlaps and expands on 'Vincent, Redefined Part 1'.
Hangovers 3 - the Fallout 4 / 76 crossover and Part 10 of 'V,R' co-written with @woodspurge , as was...
MacCready, Redefined - Part 6 of 'V,R' and what we dubbed 'The Wedding Fic'. Soppy (and mature, bi m|m).
Pic 'N' Fics - The collected mini fics and drabbles posted for OC-tober (and I'm not sure I published them all here, either as a few were only small waffles to accompany the fanart).
Hangovers 2 - Part 9 of 'V,R' but focussing on Ricky Gee's story. Technically unfinished still as I have not yet quite completed the main FO76 Quest and my writing is very largely based on actual gameplay. Part 3 skips ahead many years so the fic can still be read through completely.
Vincent, Undefined - I started writing this prequel after my original game saves were nobbled by the 0kb bug. Since 'Vincent, Redefined' (the longfic) started as short holotape entries from quite far along in the main quest, I thought recreating Vin and replaying the beginning of his story would help me cope with the lockdown, the loss of the original Vin (plus mine and partner's original OC's - we had to start from scratch) and oh... all that wonderful building I did! No more CC or mods for this PS4 :(
Vault 720 S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Challenge - this seven day writing challenge is still around under the tag #vault720 or search SPECIAL challenge, if you'd like to have a crack at it. There are some fun little ficlets here.
The Longshot (full version) - TW: non-con mention. MacCready's backstory, how he left the Gunners and came to be friends with Daisy. This also ties in with Chapter 20 of 'Vincent, Redefined' ('Safe as Safehouses') which has the n-c edited out in the main version and the full explicit version published seperately for readers to opt into. The mention is kept brief but I felt that this was important to Mac's narrative (and to paint the ugly truth about the Gunners).
MacCready, Redefined - it took Vin long enough to figure out he wasn't straight. Talk about a slow burn to start his romance with MacCready! Part 6 of 'Vincent, Redefined' sees the two having already been living together for a few years. Shaun now has his adult synth body and Duncan's age is in double figures. Snipers are reknowned for their patience but this is getting ridiculous... We loved co-writing this over the summer. @woodspurge (aka banquos_ghost) resumes a perfect Mac voice. It is fun taking a character each to write because you never quite know how the other will respond! @the-last-huntsman lent his Lone Wanderer Walker (and Charon!) to appear as a special cameo, too!
Derailed - Deacon is dead... or is that another one of his lies? This gets right into Vin's angst at the whole BoS vs Railroad debacle and gave me the opportunity to dig into Desdemona's secrets a little, taking canon writing and teasing out possibilities. @ghoulja and I are planning on exploring what happened to Deacon in the New Year.
So how in the 'Wealth did I / we manage to write that much?
Well, obviously lockdown. What a strange year (with far too few actual hugs). Aside from that, I'm already a medically retired (chronicall ill / disabled) housewife/parent. I have the time and the support to spend hours writing. On my phone touchscreen (my keyboard typing is awful anyway), with pretty much one finger like some sort of crazed radchicken pecking away *cough @radioactive-synth Hera!* - we co-wrote Bachelor Party and Chapter 7 of Pic'n'Fics, 'Relative Realities' btw). That plus autistic hyperfocus. I'm still shocked I've written that much, though... and loved every moment of it. If you have any questions, my ASK box is always open! I'd love to hear from you.
If you read any fanfic, do make sure to leave comments as well as kudos, even if only a word or two! We writers thrive on feedback!
