i just read that one ask about YJ finding about Tim's immortality before batfam and I bet it was doing something very stupid, like Kon probably challenged him that he can't do backflip off a building and Tim's like you are on and he kinda fucked up and he died and then got back up again(it wasn't even because of jumping off a building, it was probably something very quick very stupid and very Very embarrassing)
YEAAAAAAAH YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT AND I HAVE SO MANY IDEAS WITH THIS
Tim tries to do a kick-flip on his skateboard off the hand rails in the stairwell of their base but eats shit so badly his neck breaks. Cue Young Justice begin panicking until he finally wakes up. He's forced to explain, they get mad, but also instantly go: this explains a lot and we can use this.
I'm thinking the main plot is Tim getting electrocuted while tinkering with the JL tower, YJ finding him and promptly being forced to Weekend at Bernie's Tim because all the adults keep being nosy.
“Open yahr eyes. It’s time far yah ta come back ta life.” Morgana cooed, letting her magic wrap around the mortal- it had been a while since she had used the spell that normally created Banshees on a man. Hopefully, there weren't any adverse affects.
Continuation from here (x)
Rhyne was only dead for less than a few minutes before he felt breath come back to his lungs. He gasped and began to cough viciously. His irises were a saturated color of his previous vibrant violet. Rhyne’s body felt light and he gazed up at Morgana.
He could have sworn he was cold and there was nothing but darkness in his eyes. But he was back and could see all the gloomy colors of Nohr once more and vivid green eyes of his adopted fae mother.
“Mom?” His voice croaked. Rhyne wasn’t sure what was going on, but he was somehow alive.
sarah didn’t think the line had passed to her son. didn’t think it would, despite knowing itcould; the simple fact was that the bean sí were nearly always women. as her mother had told her, both parents had to be of the blood for a male child to inherit. ( it was all the more reason she was happy to have found joseph. ) she knew a daughter would almost certainly still have the power, but not a son. not her baby stevie.
she knew assuming was a mistake when he started wailing at a mere two years old, in the arms of their neighbour carolyn stone while sarah shopped for both their families. carolyn could hold her boy just fine, but much more was difficult, and sarah didn’t mind spending her time off in a helpful manner. she minded going to the next aisle to find a collapsed employee far more, and steve didn’t stop crying until they had stopped breathing.
sarah was frantic after that, trying to teach him best she could what was and was not acceptable while maintaining the household and her work and keeping joseph from finding out. it got a little easier as steve got older ( though it will never not hurt when she thinks about how he knew about joseph’s death before she did ) and then a lot easier. life could balance out. when he needed a focus and couldn’t scream she taught him what to do. taught him how to spot others supernaturals, how to be safe with them and not tip off to the mortals. taught him everything, really, as much as she possibly could. every story her mother and grandmother had taught her went to him.
the only time she was truly thankful for their shared gift was the moment that meant she didn’t have to say the words “ i am dying ” because he already knew. and she hated the pain it caused him, but he would be okay. she had taught him enough, taught him of their claim in the world.
her stevie would be fine. her stevie would survive.
steve is a banshee by his mother’s line and can follow death, be it coming or having just gone. his scream is a focal point, a way to silence extra chatter and if used properly a suitable defense mechanism either. he can vary the pitch of his voice as need be, but not create effects the way other supernaturals like sirens can do. he can’t manipulate others, only tune the messages he picks up around himself.
the serum, as it does with all the rest of him, amplifies his inherent ability. makes the chatter louder and his scream more effective. and the draw to other supernaturals apparent. hellhounds and banshees ( the first time he’d met any of his blood relatives ) seem to be magnetically drawn to one another when strong enough, and he had to learn quickly how to work with them without outing anyone or causing a bigger mess. there simply wasn’t time for anything but collaboration, and he even recruited a few into the ssr. gave wanderers a place to be if they wanted.
thankfully whatever sets him apart, doesn’t show in his blood. a completely normal human as far as anyone who doesn’t know is concerned. even when he wakes decades in the future, it’s thankfully not in any files or records. most people who did know were either dead, good at keeping secrets, also a supernatural, or some combination thereof.
the time he has, after the initial event that force-formed the avengers, is mostly spent looking into his family. finding supernaturals and more connections that can maybe explain some of his curiosities. he hasn’t approached the possibility of meeting up with old family yet, not ready to deal with them after what happened with his mother and not having had time to address it during the war. but he tries. keeps the peace best he can as he goes.
he may not be human, but that doesn’t mean he’s a monster.
