The Best Foreign Language Film winner wasn’t at the ceremony for a reason.

I found this article so perfect for the idea that religion in America is starting to be judged. This was such a powerful speech given during the award show which stood ground on their stance that all religions and races should be welcomed into any country.

The speech was against the ban that was put into action by President Donald Trump; banning people from seven majority-Muslim countries, and nearly all refugees, from entering the United States. This ban has caused a divide between the citizens of the United States. We are supposed to be the ‘land of the free’, which instead has turned into certain religions and races that are accepted and physically allowed in our country.

I feel this speech was much needed for the country to hear, we all need to sit back and understand that just because a certain religion and race is associated with people we are at ‘war’ with, does not mean that they are all associated with being bad. I do feel that muslims religions are targeted and made too seem evil. The quote posted below shows just how powerful the words are and what they mean, “I'm sorry I'm not with you tonight. My absence is out of respect for the people of my country and those of other six nations whom have been disrespected by the inhumane law that bans entry of immigrants to the US. Dividing the world into the “us" and "our enemies" categories creates fear”.
