Marcus Aurelius is , attractive, but Hadrian is hotter and has the best beard of all the emperors 10/10 facial hair and 20/10 nose. (also LIVIA 100% I’D MARRY HER IN A HEARTBEAT)

YES VERY MUCH AGREE, especially about the Julio-Claudians, I love them also and they are probably the most fucked up trash dynasty Rome ever produced, which is SAYING SOMETHING.  Sometimes I am astounded to remember that there were only 5 of them (just I mean emperors so not counting Jules), considering that they produced enough drama for like 10x that many people.

I can’t believe I forgot Hadrian!  Aside from the glorious beard he also has the added combination of buff, soldierly appeal + would also write you (possibly endearingly bad) love poetry.  

Also re: the Antonines, Lucius Verus’s sculptures always kind of look like what would happen if you crossed a dudebro with a satyr, but at least he knows how to lighten up and would be fun to party with, so points to him for that.

ok i went through like 5 pages of your 'roman things' tag & i must say 1. EMPEROR TIBERIUS IS SO STANNIS BARATHEON THANK YOU they're exactly the same (& i submitted a stannis quote to incorrectclassics for tiberius SO) 2. I actually really like Tiberius but he suffered from John Adams Syndrome (and he WAS hot when he was young) but most importantly 3. are you still up for having a conversation about which roman emperors you'd bang bc i have a list too

2) I actually kind of like Tiberius too tbh… he never asked for this and if I had to deal with Augustus as a step-father and then the Roman senate I’d probably move to Capri and start throwing people off cliffs too

-all the Julio-Claudians except Nero were pretty good looking, honestly.  Even Caligula, which is not to say I’d hit that ever (except in the sense of like, a hockey stick to the face), and on that note I’m not sure I actually… like any of them, except maybe Claudius and sometimes Augustus, I am just stating for the record that they were not a bad-looking dynasty

-I have a soft-spot for Domition, because his hatred of the senate gives me life, he doesn’t deserve nearly as much hate as he gets, and let’s be honest he’s the best looking Flavian

-if we’re including empresses then LIVIA, really all I want is a wife who is completely in control of my shit, will manipulate others to advance our mutual goals and will give me life advice about how to handle my empire

-Marcus Aurelius is sort of appealing in a broody intellectual way?  but he’d make you feel guilty for sleeping in and I don’t need that
