Darling (Introduce us to two of your characters?): 

Melandra Idelis is a wise-cracking swordswoman for hire, who I don't think has starred in anything finished. Basically, she hates magic and loves jokes. She has a girlfriend who she can't be with because Melandra is a traveler and the girlfriend is very tied to her home (also because then I can write Melandra being rescued by her girlfriend in different situations that require them being apart). I have about 40 pages about her but nothing coherent. 

Strayse is an idealistic rebel against the power of a weak but otherwise not terrible Empress; she's been captured by the Empress' forces, freed by a shipwreck, and is learning to survive in the jungle with only her erstwhile captor for help.

On the time period ask meme, I think some ancient Mediterranean culture, kind of like those Ptolemaic/Roman period mummy portraits perhaps. ~O

1. Are there any themes you tend to explore?Memory & "home" & conflicting desires! 

3. What is your biggest challenge with writing original fiction?Plot, omg, plot. I write the beginnings of things for their settings and then have no idea where they're going, or denouements with nothing before them, or charged emotional exchanges with no context.
