The appendage at the end of its tail is its primary form of attack, and it is able to deftly manipulate objects with it as if it were a hand.
Barand looks like it should evolve, but it doesn’t. The presence of the single hand tail kinda suggests it’s supposed to grow into a dragon with two hand tails, or a dragon with a big muscley arm on its back. Oh, well. Anyways, sometimes its kinda nice for a Pokemon design to be kinda straightforward and traditional and a basic green dragon with back spikes and no elemental gimmick is very traditional. Barand is the kind of dragon a kid would doodle in their notebooks.
Apparently I needed to draw Barand a second time to fully understand it. My first drawing was missing spikes and did the eyebrows wrong. Anyways, the normal green Barand looks a bit like a cryptid, but the black nuclear Barand straight up looks like a demon. The hand tail goes from an oddity to an abomination with a change in pose. Is it just me being dramatic?
