Bianca was playing the harried-but-apologetic neighbour this afternoon as she got out of the elevator a floor below her own, carrying rather a large box. She was just getting back from the university, but she wanted to stop off and talk to Barbie before she headed back to her own apartment; it had been a little while since they had caught up face to face, and besides. Bianca had a feeling that something was afoot.
What, exactly, she wasn’t yet sure. It could be nothing, really. It was just a feeling, nothing more, but Bianca had learned long ago to trust her gut. If something didn’t feel right, then it probably wasn’t. Much of her training had been internalised a long time ago, was second nature to her now, which meant that, more often than not, she could pick up on something wrong before she had even consciously realised it was wrong.
And then there were the interns, of course. And Gil. So much happening in their little sphere; Bianca made a mental note of it all as she placed the box down on the floor, knocked on Barbie’s door, and then took a step back.
“Good evening,” She smiled, when the door swung open. “Sorry to disturb you, I’ve got this parcel for you -- I was the only one in reception when it came so they asked me to sign for it. I can help you carry it in if you like, it’s a bit hefty.”
