i’m afraid things are a little more complicated than that.

“How can they be more complicated?” For the most part, he had avoided things that could be considered ‘drama’ or anything to do with people’s relationship. Ryder had limited experience with relationships in general. Which meant that he could not quite wrap his head around all the ins and outs of why everything was so dramatic. What the problem with the situation at hand was. (But he still went along with most of what Barbie had told him. He didn’t quite question things just yet). “I can barely keep up with these things as is.”

“Is it something warm? I hope that it’s something warm.” He rubbed his hands together in an attempt to warm them up before shoving them into his pockets. The weather seemed nice. The sun was out, some leaves scattered across the ground with a light breeze. The problem came with the fact that it was freezing out. Ryder knew that his cheeks and nose were probably pink and he could barely feel the tips of his ears. “I will also take some hot chocolate?”

“None of it was incorrect, you’re right, but you started with the wrong stance. It goes horse and then elephant. I’m not much of a teacher, though, B. I get nervous when I have to stand in front of a crowd. It’s why my mom made me do Spoken Word, back in the day, and a bit of theatre. Exposure therapy, except without the therapy.” A shrug. “I’m still into contact with the people who taught me kalari, by the way. I’m sure Sharad has time to swing by for a lesson or two, or three, if I ask nicely. Your community center is important, and even though he may look like a grump, Sharad’s all about helping the people.”
