FYI, barbierpt is reblogging things from you and is a supporter of HP, they reblogged this long post in defence of it yesterday. They also called a Mexican woman depraved because they spoke about how toxic cartels were and accused her of sexual harassment without proofs.
full offense, i don't care.
what the shit even is this? i'm not going to go around policing the blogs of people who follow me or reblog the nonsense that i reblogged. the block button is RIGHT THERE if you have a problem - use it. good god.
don't involve me in whatever drama y'all have going on with this person. i am too grown, have had too many migraines, and way too many kidney stone related medical expenses, to give a flying fuck about some rpt blog, hp discourse, or some depraved mexican woman and her sexual cartels.
why is barbierpt still being given a platform when they've constantly exposed themself as a bigot and now apparently someone who can't "empathize" with a genocide just bc she hasn't been through one?
It’s so fucked up and to maintain that stance over and over again just shows the kind of person they are. They have a lot of growing up to do and they need to educate themselves more. Right now it’s just read as someone who doesn’t care and puts that on the back of not having time to keep up with things. And to say that they’re open to other people’s opinions while continuing to tell those coming to them in good faith that they are wrong shows a lot about the kind of person they are.
I’m actually disgusted at barbie for saying her views on the palestinian genocide doesn’t come from privilege and on the same breath saying they’ve never experienced genocide and can’t fully emphasize with palestinian because of that
Not having known war or genocide is a privilege. Privilege isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it’s what you do with it that matters. In this case, they are privileged and the more they talk, the more it shows how they’re not ready to acknowledge it.
a compilation of barbierpt 'not excusing jkr' and not 'defending jkr' and 'acknowledging that jrk is harmful' and 'not being transphobic'.
A LOT of people have sent her asks about these and asked her to apologize for her incredibly transphobic words and it has all been ignored.
i really do hope these issues are unintentional poor attempts at diversity by an author who didn't research well as opposed to blatant racism/bigotry that was meant to be.
spoke some distasteful things about transpeople ( transphobia is not distasteful, it's harmful, even more in the case of someone who is actively funding groups that goes against trans woman, claims trans woman are not real woman, as said that the lgbtq+ activism is similar to the death eaters, etc.. also, saying transpeople is a transphobic term )
some of the issues are people trying to reach
i do hope that these racist, homophobic and anti-semitic weren't intentional on the author's behalf but instead an unfortunate error that came from lack of research.
you're all free to agree or disagree with my opinions on the subject & let's stop trying to make this into a bigger problem
we all have a tendency to be biased and therefore consume media and news that we identify with and lean most towards ( saying that while having repeatedly said that they don't see issues with the work says a lot about things they identify with )
one's personal dislike/distaste for the books and/or the author is NOT an excuse to cancel hp rps or those who write in them here on tumblr ( i don't think this is a matter of disliking jkr, it's a matter of human rights )
a series that focuses on themes of love, acceptance, and standing up to a prejudice is called racist, homophobic, transphobic... a lot of things that it's not
or because you disagree with the author/creator behind it ( again, human rights )
i received claims of jkr as a person being racist, homophobic, etc, and never found anything that she said specifically to support those views. the claims were in reference to the problematic issues some harry potters readers found in the series, which i believe was then projected onto the author purposefully being that way. and as i've stated in at least one of my responses, as unfortunate as that is i truly hope it was a matter of misinformation on jkr's behalf and not intentional. ( saying all that right after saying they've never excused her views is rich )
