Yes, a romantic but also usually a realist when it comes to the world. Bard really values connections with people, and when specifically with a romantic partner, he will drop everything for them, make them feel special and loved. He remembers the little things and enjoys coming up with date ideas lol. What makes this question sad is that he HAD found both the love and marriage he was looking for. He did want a family and kids. Then his wife died, and since then while her absence is always on his mind and he misses her, he is reaching out for love and potentially open to marriage again. It will just take longer to do so now, and he fears the death that could separate them.
