“Upon the king! let us our lives, our souls, Our debts, our careful wives, Our children and our sins lay on the king!”
One of my favorite Prince Hal/Henry V themes.
Is Barry's(Bardolf) knack Regeneration? In Out of the frying pan there are a lot of mentions that it's Also, was Sam's knak in Brothers Found burned out:(?
I found this buried in my drafts, and I’m so sorry for missing it!
Sweet Barry doesn’t have a knack yet, because I haven’t managed to come up with one. He’s so far managed to survive through sheer force of will. He might look small and fragile, but he’s got a strong spirit, and doesn’t ever give up when others might want to. In fact, his spirit is what helps keep Xander going, at times.
Sam’s not doing so well with his knack in Brothers Found right now, and he hasn’t admitted it to Dean just yet.
Ranking of Henry IV, Part 1 Characters
Prince Hal: i honestly cannot articulate why he’s great he just is
Poins: seems like a cool dude for a thief
Sir Walter Blunt: just doing his job and SHOULD NOT HAVE DIED i am still mad about that
Glendower: has some pretty high ideas about himself but overall i don’t think there’s much to hate about him personally
Hotspur: not a great person (and some serious anger issues there) but damn if he doesn’t stick it to the man
Kate: points just for putting up with Hotspur (and for being a kickass lady)
Mortimer: he’s just a hopeless romantic let him be
Falstaff: annoying but has some good things to say about war
Peto, Bardolph, and Gadshill: pretty chill guys but not super important
Northumberland: i bet he wasn’t even sick
King Henry IV: the more i read of this play the more i don’t like him, seems kinda fishy to me what with the whole probably-killed-the-last-king-and-took-over-the-throne and everything
Douglas: how did he even get involved in all this is the real question
Worcester: literally everything is his fault, what a sneaky devil

shakespeare moments that make me actually scream
bardolph’s execution
hal responding to falstaff’s banish all the world line with “i do. i will.”
viola’s awkward “...of your complexion” and “...about your years, my lord.”
“do you love me, master?”
“and, when the tale is told, bid her be judge whether bassanio had not once a love”
“there’s for you, patroclus”
antonio finishing isabella’s farewell with “from thee, even from thy virtue” after she exits, as well as that entire soliloquy
“struck with sudden grief over bardolph” and other shakespeare nerd moods
Is Barry's(Bardolf) knack Regeneration? In Out of the frying pan there are a lot of mentions that it's a miracle he's even alive and managed to survive everything, so I figured it'd likely be his knak. I tried to think of what Stan's knak might be but the only thing that came to mind was animal empathy since his love for animals has been mentioned a few times :3 Also, was Sam's knak in Brothers Found burned out:( ?
Aw, if only!
Poor little Barry does not have any advanced healing, and he’s going to go through a lot more before we see him next. There’s been a lot of dumb luck for him, and Garen’s convinced he won’t last long, while Xander is determined to get him through it.
Those three might eventually get knacks, but they were designed before I had any knacks for non-main characters in mind, so they’re currently ‘unknown’.
I still wonder if Captives will end up being story 20 like I thought… there’s been some restructuring of the story since then. Oh well, we’ll find out once the other stories are completed!
Stan’s knack is not animal empathy (he would… love that). He’s one of the characters with a hidden, unrevealed knack. Unless someone is lucky enough to guess what his special is!
At the end of Jacob in Wonderland, Sam’s knack hadn’t returned to him, and he has yet to find out if it’s burned out permanently or can recover.
