“Inquisitor, ‘tis really not necessary to send your men with me, I am able to defend myself if need be,” the witch protested, huffing as the Commander and some of his men filed into the war room of Skyhold. In fact, it would probably take her less time to travel by herself than with all the soldiers. Slowly, arms crossed over her chest and she gave the men an exasperated look. It was quite clear that none of them wanted to travel together, and especially the look on Cullen Rutherford’s face spoke volumes. A look probably mirrored on her own features.
“I don’t care,” the leader of the Inquisition replied. “You are one of our most important assets. Cullen is my best soldier. These men have been handpicked by him. I won’t let you make that whole journey by yourself. You can either take Cullen and his men with you, or I can’t allow you to leave.”
Morrigan glowered at him, her jaw setting and, for a moment, it seemed like she was going to disagree. “Fine,” she finally gave in. They were going to all have to work together, so she had little choice in the matter. Celine would not be pleased if she aggravated the Inquisition and its Inquisitor, so it left her little choice. “Fine, I shall take your Commander and his men. You have my thanks.” She inclined her head in a small curtsy, before turning her attention on the Commander himself.
“Are you ready to leave, ser? Or do you need time to gather your things?” She had been about to leave when she had been called back by the Inquisitor, so her horse and her pack-mule were ready for the journey. She hoped she would not have to wait too long for this escort.
