2. Their emotional/moral weak spots
For Deshauna, her emotional weak spot is anything concerning her older brother, Abioye. The two of them were just less than a year apart, and they were almost as close as twins. His death in Maguuma devastated the family, and out of all their siblings, it hit her the hardest.
Anyone implicating that if he had been a better soldier he may not have died will very quickly learn that she doesn't just carry her weapons for show... and she does not hesitate.
The only comfort she takes in his loss is that her path as a revenant has given her a means by which to reach out to Abioye beyond the mists. It's a hollow comfort, being able to occasionally hear his voice when she's tending to matters of diplomacy or helping refugees...
PSYCH, I'm going to talk about my friend @the-proofreader's Barend, because he's fantastic and head empty.
So this one time at a moot, they ran out of literally all of the ale. Barend decided, at that point, that he was going to go to the next haven over in order to get more ale from them.
But being so absolutely fully plastered that he didn't even know which way was up, he walked in the completely wrong direction and found himself in the stronghold of a bunch of Sons of Svanir instead of the haven he'd been heading towards.
So there he was. Witless, weaponless, none the wiser. He doesn't remember the rest of what happened.
Which is honestly the embarrassing part for him. He knows he absolutely trashed the Svanir, but not only did he not come back with the ale, he also didn't come back with a fantastic tale to share of his exploits.
He's still mad that it happened, and he doesn't like to talk about it.
