Virtually everyday that I've worked the past 2 months, I see the same girl studying for hours on end. I've never talked to her, only called out her drink. Then one day out of boredom, I decided to make conversation:

Girl: "Can I get an ice water?" Me: "Sure" *starts to fill cup* "You study here everyday, don't you?" Girl: *sigh* "Yeahh...that and I'm applying to a bunch of colleges. I want to transfer out." Me: "What's your focus?" Girl: "I want to be a special ed teacher. What about you?" Me: "Well, I quit school 3 years ago. But my passion is music. I sing and play guitar." Girl: "That's so hot." *stares and slurps straw* Me: *awkward-verbal-noise/back-of-neck-scratch combo* Girl: "So hot."
