“I can’t believe it’s been five years sincewe were working on the East High yearbook in here,” Taylor says wistfully as hereyes travel around the room and Gabriella feels a joyous warmth settle insideher chest as she realizes how much their current situation – sitting on herchildhood bed with pictures and notebooks spread out – mirrors their old studysessions.
“And now we’re planning my wedding,” shesays, giggling and blushing as she smiles down at the diamond adorning herfinger, before looking back up, her grin widening as she notices how Taylor ispositively radiating with the same happiness she feels and as she realizes howmuch they have both accomplished in the past five years.
“Life has treated us pretty well, hasn’tit?” she says, a little quieter, and as Taylor nods with a warm smile and movesforward to take her hand and squeeze it, Gabriella feels even happier, because there’sno one she’d rather share this joy with.
