Who needs chromosomes? Certainly not the Indian muntjac! Indian muntjac deer have the lowest chromosome count of any mammal, with 6 in females and 7 in males. That's fewer chromosomes than a fruit fly!

A fun little Muntjac deer (also known as the barking deeer) drawing.

I didn't use alcohol markers as a color base like I usually do, went back to my roots of just colored pencils, also I used a bit more of a graphic lining style where alot if the shadows are part of the lineart.

There are 12 known species of Munjac deer, and like many other deer species, they are sexually dimorphic with males growing horns whilst females have bony knows instead.
