The Macallan 12 Years Old Sherry Oak Cask

Yeah, I’m a classy pup, so I’m settling into my favorite chair with some Scotch. Not just any scotch, but a Macallan 12 year. I’m smelling vanilla, ginger, apple skin, white wood, and sherry notes. 

Take a sip and you’ll get apple, pear, vanilla, cashews, marmalade and once again, sherry.

Weller Antique 107

So you liked Weller Special Reserve, huh? I knew you would. FoxFriend here clearly liked it a bit too much...

Once you’ve gotten used to that kind of luxury in the Special Reserve, take a step up to Weller Antique 107. This ups the proof, the body, the flavor, and the length from the regular Special Reserve. On the nose you’ll smell lots of spice - brown spice and cinnamon - and then oak, vanilla, and caramel. You’ll then notice leather, more cinnamon and nutmeg. The nose reminds me of thanksgiving - a mix of late fall and early winter spices. 

On the palate, the bourbon is clearly higher in proof - and more amped up - than the Special Reserve. Higher spice and a fuller mouthfeel is obvious. This isn’t messing around. There is a bit of spice, much like the Maker’s Mark Cask Strength. You’ll notice oak, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. While it remains smooth, it is fuller and more brawny than the Special Reserve. 

If you can’t tell, I think this is a wonderful wheated dram.

Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon

Ohai friends on this lovely boozeday Tuesday. You know what time it is? It’s bourbon time! Let’s talk about Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon today. It’s always OBSV. Warm. Spicy. Lovely. Vanilla, orange, cinnamon, cooked apples, dried flowers, oak, and cork on the nose. Very flavorful on the palate with bourbon vanilla, cayenne, cinnamon, cooked apples, peaches in brown sugar, a bit of pepper and warmth from the rye. Nice viscousness too. I really love my wheated bourbons - this one isn’t wheated but it is delicious all the same. This bourbon has a beautiful history in Europe (and a sad one here in the USA) but now we are getting the good stuff again. DRINK UP, FRIENDS!

HIBALL [OBSOLETE]

Forgot this one too. Okay NOW this is the last of the old artwork. Only listed as obsolete because he could do with some adjustments, especially the colours, I just haven't done it yet.. Hiball is the bartender and as such doesn't engage in battle but does engage in conversation. He is specially crafted for this by being fitted with sympathetic ears and padded shoulders to cry on. The most interesting part of him though is the slot machine built into his chest. Shake his hand and the wheels will spin. The three ingredients you land on will be automatically mixed into a cocktail! No refunds.
