Barnes and Elias (Platoon) Fighting Over You Would Include

Elias would see you and immediately want to approach you, telling you how beautiful you are 

Barnes would be more reserved about it, and though he’d feel a little bitter that Elias approached you first, he’d pretend he didn’t care 

You’re equally attracted to both. You think they’re both the most attractive men in the camp 

The only thing that you don’t know, is the two men are practically sworn enemies, and you’re caught between a war within a war

You’d spend an evening stargazing with Elias in the jungle. He’d kiss you, and it would be amazing-- he would taste like honey and just the faintest bit of pot

After that, you would find Barnes. He’d tell you to run back to your ‘water walker’ but you’d tell him that you don’t belong to Elias

This would lead to a slow kiss behind a dug out sleeping hole. Barnes would taste like Jack Daniels and cigarettes, but it’s unique and perfect too

You get so confused and conflicted over your feelings for both men 

One day, you see them having a verbal battle over you in the barracks, Cpt. Harris trying to break it up to no avail 

Elias is yelling at Barnes, telling him he doesn’t know how to treat a girl right, and Barnes is yelling back that Elias is one to talk, he’s probably never had a girlfriend love him back after his last one

Elias would take that super personally, and you would follow him, assuring him you do have feelings for him. 

Then Barnes would see, and assume you’ve picked a side... but you haven’t. You still can’t choose between the two men vying for your affection.

hear me out, platoon civilian au where chris comes down from his parents' house in new england to stay in tennessee with his beloved grandparents for the summer

people loooove to throw religious trauma headcanons around but i truly feel that barnes is a plausible example of a character who could've been raised very religiously. it's pretty obvious that he's using the brutality of the war to try and run away from some truth of himself (even though he'd never admi this), but the guilt still catches up to him sometimes, and in the end when he dares chris to kill him, it's because he thinks he deserves it. southern baptism does this to a man.
