“are you lost, princess?” barney questioned after tossing a bag of god knows what onto the deck, completely unaware of the fact she was a princess. for most of his life barnabas preferred to dissociate himself from his royal roots, often leaving his family’s estate to “explore” and “keep the area safe.” no one ever seemed to question the prince, for he was known to be quite the solider willing to risk his life to protect the surrounding property and its residence. unbeknownst to any of them he was really pursuing a double life, getting entangled with gangs and creating bonds with forces his family would never approve of.
as he stood straight, slightly shifted onto one leg he eyes the woman who looked as though she ran through the dirt based off of the dirt on her shoes. “i think you’re looking for the town. it’s that way.” he points in the direction she very clearly had just come from. “you’re in the wrong part of the country. i think you’d be better off turning around.”
