“Folks, please. Control yourselves, have some composure... as we welcome Barric Paine to the stage!” Calix grinned and clapped along with the crowd, pointing to the chair across from his for the tribute. “And Barric, please, if you want to sit just a little closer...” Calix giggled and tossed a wink at the camera before looking back at Barric. “The first question is obvious. How are you and darling Lavender finding the Capitol? How long have you known each other?”
“You know, I never imagined it would be so difficult to remember the faces of the people we will be going into the arena with. In theory, these are all people you’re bonded with forever. Most of us will die together. But, in practice, twenty-five faces are a lot of faces to remember,” she spoke, genuinely concerned that she wasn’t going to as much as talk to everybody, let alone get to know them. It was the decent thing to do, especially if the plan was to kill them all.

‘XRP Was Never Designed To Be Cheap,’ So What Is Its Real Value?
Crypto pundit BarriC has declared that XRP was never designed to be cheap, given its projected utility among institutional players. Winners: Lavender and Barric
Holland’s eyes had adjusted slowly to the brightness of the day, having come out of the darker catacombs, and as the countdown ended, her vision cleared and she focused in on what was on the ground in front of her.
There were small items — a little loaf of bread, a small bundle of rope — and a bit further away, nearer to the boy from Eleven, was what looked like animal hide. Of course she’d recognize it anywhere, but this seemed to have a strap fashioned out of the hide... it was a bag, as far as she could tell, and if she could get to it, maybe she could scoop up some of these smaller items into it.
The countdown ended, it was time, people were leaping off their platforms. There was no time to find Aspen; they had a plan, they’d follow it. She needed to get something, fucking anything, to help keep them alive.
So she began to sprint, flexing her hands as she neared the bag. She could scoop it up and a few other things and keep running, all the way towards the meetup point...
But it wasn’t that simple. Because the boy from Eleven seemed to have his eye on the same thing.

Barric Paine. District Nine.
We know tributes always come with skeletons they’ve shoved in their closet, but this guy’s skeleton is a doozy, and it’s actually not been in his closet but Abel Evans’s. If I had a minute alone with Barric I’d ask him to share the more lurid details about the Evans mansion, but alas, I’m not sure my moment will ever come, as this killer seems to have put his killing days behind him. Oh, well.
