15th Head of Soma Clan - Father of Soma Yoshitane

A man born for the battlefield, Soma Moritane holds strictly to the code of samurai honor and loyalty to one’s clan. Above all else, the preservation and advancement of Soma Clan is top priority and he will do whatever necessary to ensure its future. After inheriting the title of clan leader at the death of his father, Moritane dropped all alliances and resumed the long-standing feud with the Date clan, in efforts to further expand Soma borders.

Mentally and physically resilient despite his age, his intimidating figure strikes fear and respect among the men of Soma. Moritane expects great things from his only son, Yoshitane, but is often disappointed by the boy’s softhearted and compassionate nature and continues to strictly enforce the requirements of a samurai warrior. Moritane possesses the strength of ten men, and skillfully wields both the spear and the sword. His abilities on horseback are unmatched. Though viewed as a cold and cruel general, he shows clear-minded focus on ensuring the Soma clan’s future in the chaos of warring states.

For the Basara timeline, Moritane’s fearlessness earned him a warrior’s death during a fierce battle not long after Yoshitane was appointed as the 16th head of Soma clan.

Katakura ''Kita'' Kitako is a loving and caring older sister for everyone in the Date clan. Kita is a very kind and overly worried woman so she doesn’t like wars and hopes that someday they’ll ends. Almost from the beginning of her service to the Date clan has a bad relationship with Yoshihime (especially after Kitako became wet nurse for Masamune).
