Yeah I get what you’re saying ---it’s also turning the fic into something inherently sexual which I’ve mentioned before isn’t something I’m really into already (I think i’ve been lucky enough to not really run across that terminology in fics though)

If I may touch on the previous subject, being selfish with your art is a good thing. It's good to own it and take enjoyment even at the expense of everyone else. I've been told for most of my life that I need to do what 'sells', so I've never drawn for myself (maybe briefly with lots of guilt) and I've suffered deeply for it. I feel like I have no identity and no connection to this huge part of my life. Be selfish, love yourself and your interests. People will be drawn to your passion.

yea! i mean, this isnt really as applicable for working with paying clients since it should go without saying that you kinda gotta do what they want

but in regards to your own work, be fierce with your passion. show no fear

There's a chance hiding rose's eyes could have been a design choice? Steven is the focus in that shot and another pair of eyes to look at would have been distracting. This way we see her but she isn't stealing the attention. (Consider YD's eyes...)

that’s a good point and yea, that was likely a factor. The focus in that part of the extended opening is meant to be on Steven which means the portrayal of Rose should be as impersonal as possible so its not distracting, as you said. It’s not so much Rose as it is the idea or symbol of Rose as someone whose name Steven is trying to live up to

Western Zodiac-Based Wings Round 2

z3r0infinity’s lovely orange wings are based on a Sun Bittern. If you haven’t seen one, you’re doing yourself a disfavor.

albaoaurora has some lovely rainbow invertebrate wings - tried something a little different with the rainbow effect on these.

basbirdie gets some tasty looking Orange Juice wings. I am loving the oranges, I really don’t use enough of the colour. I do get plenty of the juice, happily.

blackdogrunning gets the Mantis Shrimp wanna-be lovechild of a Macaw and a pennant Winged Nightjar! Can never go wrong with rainbows. Never.
