Baseball!Mikey
It was the worst day ever when your high school took out the softball team. It was your life to play. After all, diamonds are a girl’s best friend. Through the heart break, you decided to wait until baseball rolled around to try out. How hard could it be? With high hopes, you tried out for the team. It surprised the coach when you made the varsity team. You were almost as good as the mvp, Michael Clifford. As you became a part of the varsity team, Michael sort of took you under his wing since the other boys didn’t really want to accept you for sexist reasons, but Mikey saw potential in you. You were sweet, kind and beautiful. He would protect you from anything and everything, which he decided in the heat of the moment one day at a school game. It was the most game changing day of his life—true love. As a secret weapon of the team, you were the pitcher. It was completely legal to pitch the baseball like in softball. You used it against the other boys. One boy in particular, a boy named Cody, was especially frustrated with you. He had been trying to foul you since the day you stepped onto the mound your first game against his team. You enjoyed pitching him because he could never hit the ball. It would whizz past him like he had a hole in his bat. One by one, the points racked up. You team was winning by major points, and the opposing team was pissed. They tried calling you out on your pitch, but it was totally fair and what was about to occur, wasn’t. You were up to bat before it happened. “Cmon {y/n}. Just strike out and we’ll be alright,” Michael winked, patting your ass as you left the dugout, bat in hand. You smirked when you saw Cody on the mound. Cody saw your smirk, growing furious. He knew you were taunting him, and he wouldn’t take that from a girl. When you were ready to bat, he sneered at you, spitting on the grass. Of course, you knocked it out of the park. Your hit was a perfect homer! As you ran the bags, Cody’s rough voice echoed in your ears as he barked to his teammates. “Throw it in you idiots!” Your pulse quickened as you counted the bases. “1…2…” A small circular shadow flew over your head. Cody caught the ball, stepping into your way. With full force, he slammed the ball in your stomach with his glove. It was a blow to the stomach that was totally unexpected, making Mikey’s blood boil. With a cry, you crumbled to the ground. “Hey!” He screamed, running out of the dug out. “What do you think your doing!” “She wants to play with the big boys, it’s what she gets,” Cody retorted. The rage pent up in Michael was ready to burst. He heard your soft crying and came unglued while he walked toward the lanky baseball player. Michael clenched his fist, slugging it right into Cody’s face. At that moment, Michael realized that you were so important to him, and he wasn’t gonna let anything happen to you.
