Calum: So you're coming to my game tonight right?
I text Y/N my best friend. It's been two years now and I still don't think she realizes how much I'm in love with her. I feel my phone vibrate.
Y/N: I don't know Cal, I have a lot of homework tonight
Calum: But it's senior night it's potentially my last baseball game ever!
Y/N: I'll see what I can do
I put my phone back in my bag and start getting ready for the game.
"Hood, you ok?" My coach says.
"Yeah I'm fine," I say "just kinda sad it's my last game" and Y/N won't be there I think to myself.
"Playoffs aren’t off the table, we just gotta nab this game. But with your stats, I'm pretty sure you've got more games, I heard there are some college scouts coming tonight.” He puts my back but this news only adds to the pressure. “Also, I need to talk to you Clifford and Hemmings about the fancy senior night stuff we have to do for you guys so I'll find you guys later."
"Ok coach." I say. I wish Y/N was here, she hasn't come to as many of my games this season as she has in previous years so I really hope she can make it.
It's the 9th innings into the game we've been down, 0-2. That stupid Irwin kid hit one of the best pitches I've seen all season and got a 2 run homer. I just haven't been focused at all this game, I keep catching myself look over at the student section, yeah there are plenty of girls cheering my name but none of them are Y/N.
"Hood you're on deck." Coach shouts. I put on my helmet and grab my bat to go take some practice swings. Michael was on 1st and Luke was up at bat right now but we already had two outs.
"Yo Cash Money you swing like a girl." A familiar voice says.
"Y/N you came!" I say.
"Well of course, who else is gonna make sure you don't suck."
"Hood stop talking and focus!" Coach says.
"Sorry, good luck!" Y/N says before walking over to the student section. She came, I smile to myself when the clink of the bat pulls me back to the game.
"GO LUKE GO!" I shout as he rounds 1st. Luke slid and was safe at 2nd and Michael was at 3rd. It was all up to me now. I step up to the plate and take a deep breath.
"Ball." Ump says. I rest my stance.
"Strike!" Shit. I take a breath and look at the pitcher. He winds up and the pitch is perfect so I take a swing at it.
"YEAH CALUM!" I hear the crowd shout and I start running like hell. I see Michael come home with Luke close on his tail and just keep going around 2nd. The cut-off man dropped the ball by the time I get to 3rd so book it towards home plate. I see the throw out of the corner of my eye and I slide into home.
"SAFE!" Everyone starts going crazy! There are people all around me jumping on me and I'm pretty sure everyone ran onto the field.
"HEY CAL!" I was somehow able to hear Y/N shout over everyone else.
"Y/N!" I shout finally finding her face in the crowd and before thinking I just grab her and kiss her, and she kissed me back. I pull away and look at her for any sign of emotion.
"Why did you do that?" She asks.
"Well, uh" I start to panic "I mean it's a common thing for guys to kiss their girlfriends after a big win, I mean Michael and Crystal are practically eating each other's faces and-"
"Yeah but I'm not your girlfriend."
"Well, would you like to be?" I ask. Before I knew it Y/N's lips were on mine.
"So I take that as a yes?" I get out between kisses.
"Yes, that's yes, Cal." I pick her up and swing her around not even paying attention to any of the other people trying to talk to me right now.
