total number of completed stories: not counting meme fill type things... 5. counting meme/event fills, idk. 50-60ish? they’re v short tho.
total word count: around 40K, if i include things not on ao3.
fandoms written in: daiya no ace, yowapeda, chihayafuru, kind of oofuri if you count crossovers. one gundam wing drabble.
looking back, did you expect to write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expected?
ah man. this was a tough year for me tbh. if i was still going like i was at the end of last year (when i started writing for daiya) i’d say maybe less, but with how things shook out, more? i didn’t manage any actual fic until toward the end of the year for the most part. i got through the first half of the year on fic meme and then the last third or so was dominated by writing for events.
what’s your own favorite story of the year?
i think all my faves this year are meme fills tbh. kuraryou bad ideas, christanba beach kiss, misawa things you said after you kissed me, miyunori saso fill, kinara sohoku au saso fill, kuraryou fast and furious saso fill.
did you take any writing risks this year?
i joined events! lots of them! otherwise i prob would legit not have managed to write any actual fic at all this year. honestly, i’ve never written this much or this consistently for any fandom or like at all tho, so even with all my flailing at deadlines i think it was a good move.
do you have any fanfic or profit goals for the new year?
keep writing, finish some of these wips i’ve been sitting on for like a year now, stop being so intensely self-critical that i get in my own way, chill the fuck out. don’t give up! write some of the fun things i wanna write! don’t get sad about lack of feedback! don’t get so self-conscious! just do things! also legit write for oofuri.
best story of the year?
i tend to think my favorites are the best, so see above, lmao. if i have to narrow it down, either the miyunori saso fill or the misawa things you said, probably. if i have to pick an actual fic, prob a boxer’s bob and weave.
most popular story of the year?
by far, let the thunder in, which is also the only misawa thing i finished this year.
story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
mmmm. for this year idk. i’ll preemptively say it’s the to-be-published anthology piece (this too shall) bc it’s chriszaizen, or technically chris & zaizen since it’s a gen anthology. it’s mainly about zaizen and very very few people care about him but he’s my baby.
most fun story to write:
hahahah oh my god. i’m the absolute worst procrastinator you will ever meet and i’m also totally useless on work days so i was writing up to deadline on everything. i think fic meme prompts i liked and some of the saso fills toward the beginning/middle of the event were the most fun, maybe. i really enjoyed writing the miyunori for that, actually, because i adore richard siken and creating atmosphere is one of my favorite things to do, so that one.
story with the single sexiest moment:
i did not write any porn this year. i’m not even sure i wrote kissing with tongue year, honestly. there’s implied sex in you’re a secret only i know tho it’s not the actual characters so ??
most sweet story:
there are a lot more competitors in this category, but let’s go with this kuraryou bday meme fill bc i like it and want to highlight it.
“holy crap, that’s wrong, even for you!” story:
i’m boring, i’m sorry. the worst things i did were wreck ryousuke’s baseball career and not fix zaizen’s.
story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
idk abt shift so much, but this tanbanaka saso fill helped solidify some tanba things for me... i’ve been sitting on a tanba-centric thing so i would say that one if i finished it, but maybe next year. =___=
most unintentionally telling story:
unsure... maybe let the thunder in, especially contrasted with kblf from last year? sort of shows where i’ve moved wrt miyuki especially, probably.
hardest story to write:
hahahah oh my god. they were all difficult honestly, but probably the worst were let the thunder in and you’re a secret only i know. both had deadlines where i had super heavy work schedules on top of them so i was right up against the buzzer on both.
biggest disappointment:
mmm, probably the second kinara saso fill i did. it was the last thing i wrote for the event and it came p easily but i’m still so shrughands abt it. if i’m leaning on dialogue a lot, i tend not to like the results much... also maybe time races on. it was difficult to write and i’m still pretty meh about it.
biggest surprise:
maybe saso as a whole. i got pretty stressed and i didn’t feel well-supported but overall i’m glad i did it. i got to branch out a bit more fandom-wise than i had before, i met some cool people, i wrote some stuff i liked.
fic written in 2015:
time races on (kanetou saso main round entry)
let the thunder in (misawa reverse mini-bang piece)
a boxer’s bob and weave (miyumei daiya exchange gift)
you’re a secret only i know (kuraryou daiya winter hols gift)
this too shall (unposted chriszaizen; to be published in cloud 9 anthology)
kuraryou week fills
saso multi-fandom fills
various fic meme (tumblr tag)
On the last day of the 2015 Major League Baseball season I vow that next season I will go to a Mets game. No matter what happens this post season. Whether it's home at Citi Feild or somewhere else. I will see the Mets in 2016.
Kominato Ryousuke is the most mature person I have never see!!!
ahhhh i really love him tbh. he’s got a lot of layers and i think some of them generally get focused on to the exclusion of everything else -- sort of the nature of fandom, i guess? but he’s a really complex guy who’s got a lot of tension pushing at all those moving parts and motivations and there’s so many different directions he could go. i really never expected to love him as much as i do tbh, but i doooo.
