reminder to self that a diagnosis for some of my pain does not mean my other problems will suddenly evaporate. i still have spinal problems, i still have thyroid problems, i still have a silly amount of mental health problems. be happy but don't forget, don't stop taking care of myself
none of these things are the Worst Thing To Happen To Me, and even if it was something "worse" that i was diagnosed with it still would not be the Worst Thing because i would manage with it like everything else, like i am managing now, like i have been managing. nothing is insurmountable or pitiable.
even when it seems like me managing is tenuous at best, please remember that i am still alive, i am still surviving, and that is amazing, and that i can keep surviving.
celebrate, self, that i have some sort of diagnosis to explain some things but don't lose track of the overall healing process.
love yourself when you can, self, and try to be gentle when you can't.
Was Mitt Romney born rich? He was probably born with a silver foot in his mouth.
