BIOGRAPHY (trigger warnings: death mention, alcohol, drugs, violence)
The troublemaker of the family, Sebastian grew up with a rebellious nature, becoming the thunder of the stormy bunch that was the Landry children. He caused trouble the moment you thought it could be quiet for just a minute and undeniably stole a lot of attention which had people wondering why the Landry’s decided to have more kids after him. The boy was a handful; running away from home the moment he could walk, stealing things from friends and landing himself several hours of detention every week in middle- and high school. There were even speculations among teachers that he was being treated bad at home when in reality that’s where he thrived the most. He loved his family, even though he often got his siblings in a lot of trouble and had very little regrets about it. This boy was just unstoppable by nature and didn’t have much sense of right and wrong.
It’s a phase, everyone said.
Maybe it would have been. If their mother hadn’t died. If they hadn’t moved.
He might be a good liar but pretending he was fine after their mother’s death was a facade everyone could see straight through, even though Sebastian was confident that partying, getting into fights and filling himself with alcohol every other night at the age of seventeen seemed perfectly healthy. He was fine, just doing what normal teenage boys do and in the end he was still there for his siblings in the time of grief, although more or less hung over. Then he was back out on the streets or at a house party hosted by someone he didn’t know. He didn’t miss his old life at all, he’d say; the crowded, messy two-story home in New Orleans. No, lies. He missed and loved every bit of it; the lights, the jazz, the streets, every scratch on the floor from the many kids running around their house, every creaky door and the hole in the wall in his room he had created while playing video games. It was probably patched up by now but his mind wandered back to it sometimes and how his mother had shook her head at him after rushing up to find out the origin of the loud noise.
Crescent Harbor had nothing on New Orleans. Adjusting to a new High School, finding new friends and grieving his mother wasn’t easy and his time at Crescent Harbor College was a hot mess as well. He was arrested several times for a variety of misdemeanors, for the most part fighting and drugs and Sebastian couldn’t count on one hand how many times he had woken up in a drunk tank, a jail cell or even in unknown places.
You’d think at twenty-nine Sebastian would have his shit together but you’d be dead wrong. Time heals wounds, absolutely. The Landy family slowly slipped back into some kind of normalcy and managed to find peace in their situation while making a new home for themselves in Crescent Harbor, even when the rest of the kids grew older and found their own places to live. However, one thing that stayed for the most part the same was Sebastian’s knack for getting in trouble. At this point his own family members barely even get worried anymore if he goes days without contacting anyone. Some may see it as something sad but Sebastian himself finds it a little bit amusing that they’re so used to it. Additionally, it’s quite relieving to not have two dozen worried voice mails on his phone once he’s back on track.
After graduating College, which many thought he wouldn’t do, he got a job as a bus boy but has since then gone through four other jobs, including drug dealing. To get him out of that, his sister got him a job at the drive-in a little more than two years ago but was forced to fire him a couple of months later, to both of their disappointment. Since then, Sebastian has worked as a bouncer at a local nightclub, although he has been fired and re-hired a handful of times, mostly for not showing up to his shifts. It doesn’t mean he isn’t trying.
Because oh he’s trying.
He always admired his College girlfriend’s patience with him and understood why she left him in the end, especially after over three years of being on and off with each other during which Sebastian was locked up a few times, even though it was only short periods at a time. He was a mess and they were a mess together. The difference between them was that she finally grew up and dumped him for the last time four years ago. Since then, Sebastian has been trying over and over to become a better person but failing more times than intended by falling into old habits. He has his family by his side though, with his mother in spirit and knows what he should change about himself, although he doesn’t exactly have a plan.
