THOMPSON influenced, South Floridian Father caricature was taking his naughty children to the carnival one fine, sticky summer afternoon when he was lured in by the "evil" Roach Barker into bash-em, SMASH-EM game of BASHyBUG. Via Flickr: ** CREATIVE ENGINEERING's 'Bashy Bug' Unveiling at the IAAPA ; original video ** *** CREATIVE ENGINEERING ***/ **** ANDREA"S ART BLOG **** ☠ ☠ -->> The HOST of "BASHyBUG" and a dirty ol' bug himself, that lousy Barker is in cahoots with Bashy and hopes to make a quick quarter or 100 of of ambitious FLIP-FLOP wearin' players. Hoping his goading and antagonistic score-keepin' will wear out the player and end their Roach-squashing days FOREVER !! Well he's really not that bad, but a DIRTY CARNEY is still a DIRTY CARNEY and this guys is really up to no good. But it'll all BE REALLY GOOD if you Smash the dirty Buh-JEEBUS outta his buggy buddy BASHY, score some big points and win some BIG PRIZES !! That'll set that nasty Barker right and maybe he'll give up the arcade racket and take up knitting, or cookie-crumb stealing, or infesting abandoned outhouses in Tuscaloosa -- or whatever it is Roaches do when they retire. Based on an earlier artists work of a sleek and "handsome" Roach; Barker was made to look smaller and "ROACH SIZE" compared to his more HUMAN size models i worked from. The silly main antagonist teases you as you try to "smash" him on the game board's playing field. This part makes the little, indestructible Bashy a rather masochistic enemy who's encouraging the player to stomp it. Deep down he enjoys it !! Influenced by the classic TMNT designs of Ryan Brown and Dave Arshawsky; Bashy takes conceptual form as a "Sid Roach" & Football player. With either a "Vicious" head of spikey hair or a football helmet to keep his tiny, beady buggy brains all in tact and to protect him from menacing, thorax-smashing FLIP-FLOPS !! ~ t © 2015 Aaron Fechter; CEI
