The costumes would be slightly tooled later for better visibility and movement. For their first foray topside - it wasn’t to bad. #TMNT "LEONARDO'S LETTERS Head" - Modified TMNT Original Official Website "LETTERS PAGE" element (( 1996 )) by ~ tOkKa Via Flickr: ☣ ☣ -->> Modified website element from Dan Berger's original, official ninjaturtles.com. Mod by Tokka.. Salutations !! The original "Letters Page" Forum on the official website provided infrequent updates from the Original Four Turtles, then later Venus de Milo in 1997 as well for a few short years. Until 2000 when it was just the main 4 guys again. In the early years of the letters page, all 5 Turtles would update fans individually on their off screen and comic page adventures. Best one could describe the letters from the Turtles as "OFFICIAL FAN FICTION". These Official Fiction short stories combined elements from the old Mirage Books, TV show, Archie Books & the Next Mutation - treating them all as ONE UNIVERSE with even Venus interacting with the Mighty Mutanimals, April, Casey Jones, his daughter Shadow Jones, the Fugitoid, Neutrinos, Krang, General Traag , Shredder & the Foot Clan, The Dragon Lord & the Rank , The Murk Mariner and more !! and adventures would lead i nto and beyond the defeat of the Rank & the Teens traversing the globe and galaxies. By 2001, Venus had moved on and the Fab-four would continue to update fans with their adventures into their 2003 cartoon show iteration. Allusions to Hun & newer show elements i think were dropped here and there, but the letters were shorter from here on out. The Teens would keep fans updated on their antics as late as 2008 post the forth 2007 film. Dan Berger & Molly Bodé would also answer direct email letters to the Teens early on their behalf with potential help from a few others in the Mirage Studios office. Later, i believe Dan took over the bulk of the work on the letters. Adventures in the digital dispatches were were written entirely by Dan as he interestingly enough got into each of the Teens' brains and "shells". This was amoung Dan's best writing. Perhaps in time, I may be able to restore the archive between what i have printed out and what is digitally archived. Some stories may be lost pre-December 1996 and the times digital-archive did not capture the website. The stories may be backed up on some old hard-drive at Mirage Studios, but the chance of that being restored by them or Nickelodeon would most likely be impossible. The most fun part of the TMNT Letters forum was when you could actually write in to all 5 Turtles & get a personalized response !! Later on the messages may have been automated but i am not sure. What an exciting time it must have been for young fans to get an email back from their favourite mutant !! And yes, even ol' silly Tokka here wrote in just for fun early on - with the Teens calling me out and asking how i was doing !! YOWZA !!
