I made a dice pouch with one of my first batches of handspun silk! It is soft and strong and shiny and I am very very pleased with it. Gonna spin up a bit more silk in black or pale silver or maybe dark blue for a drawstring.

i was thinking about reading summer by edith wharton during my holiday coming up, are you liking it ??
I am!! The prose is beautiful, but I think that's to be expected from edith wharton (disclaimer I had only ever read her short stories before, and I was actually looking to get the age of innocence but the bookstore didn't have it so, summer it was) and the main character is a very interesting, strong young woman. At first she's so innocent it's almost irritating because you can definitely see some things coming, but it's been described as a coming of age novel so I understand that she needs to begin somewhere to get to the point where she becomes wiser and increasingly complex
OOOOH

Pain has set you free. You’re no good anymore. You’re more like me. Be like me. Let the old yourself die.
