Are you selective when rping with oc's/other fandoms?

[it depends really. if a fandom i don’t know responds to my opens, or sends an ask, generally i’ll respond. it’d be rude not to, right?][with OC’s, as long as you have an about page, and a rules page, 9 times out of ten i’ll totally be up for writing with you!][and uh, with fandoms i dislike, generally i’ll tell you that i’m not a fan, but i don’t demand that you unfollow or anything like that. if you wanna see my posts, that’s not something i should say no to, right?]

do you ever struggle with summarizing WIPs to people who ask? Like sometimes I tell people I'm writing a novel for nano and they ask what it's about and I find myself just sort of floundering there because how do I summarize my baby in a succinct way that wont cause them to lose interest??

like. i cannot summarise at all. everyone who knows me and my writing process will tell you. i write long, and i write rambly, and if i think it’s going to take one chapter, it’ll probably take at least three. it is painful and awful and i hate it. trying to distill anything into a couple of words or lines or sentences inevitably means it loses its nuance, and i always end up going OH GOD IT’S TERRIBLE IT SOUNDS AWFUL AND TRITE AND BORING WHY WOULD ANYONE EVER READ THIS.
