Lips pursed, Scully sets a newly unwrapped picture frame on a bookshelf. Stella hides something for a moment, diverts attention like a magician pulling a trick- but Scully stays the course, truly a sailor’s daughter. “What can I do to help you, honey?”

         “ uhhhhh . . . ” okay, that’s a FAIR question. he scratches the back of his head. “ well, ya see . . . your door was open. ” yeah, shane was NEVER a good liar --- even living; he was a terrible fucking liar.

Skinner sighed as Karen told him that there was a visitor waiting for him in his office.  After two hours spent with Agents Mulder and Scully, trying to argue their ridiculous theories, he was in no mood for unexpected visitors.  But it was his job.  Skinner ordered the visitor sent in.

“Ma’am,” he said, getting to his feet as she entered.  He noted her striking resemblence to Agent Scully.  “What can I do for you today?”

     if stella was to see his face now, she’d be met with something close to a smug grin that’s spread across his lips. there’s no missing the way she presses back a little, and will can hardly help but give a small, but CONFIDENT squeeze. “ not so important? huh, and yet you’re still looking. is...HANDSY a problem? because i mean if it is -- ” he gives another squeeze before his hands sit idly still. “ -- i can stop? ”
