some little drawings I did of Basil to show off his new weapons

+ a version without the shield so you can see the dagger (yes, my DM is letting me use both at once)

I have once again updated my D&D character's design.

We recently levelled up so I finally took my first level in artificer which called for a change and it also means that next level up I will start using my self-made magical weapons, hence the new rapier and shield

(some extra thoughts and details below the cut)

the bow, dagger, cloak, ring, sharktooth earrings, and "cool hat" are magic items I bought or found during the campaign, some of which didn't have a visual design yet. With the bow, the idea is that Basil took the diy decorations he put on his old bow and put them onto this one. The "cool hat" was originally supposed to be an actual hat but I didn't know how to incorporate that into his design without looking kind of goofy so my DM approved this diadem looking thing and the buttons are just normal buttons I stole from some random guy ones because pretty

Anyway, I stumbled upon Basil's first ref the other day and it's so funny how different he looks now. Everytime I redesign him I make his colours even brighter and his anatomy has also changed a lot. I like how lizard-like he used to look but the more human anatomy is easier to draw in energetic poses for me
