Worked on this Thursday, Friday, and finally finished it last night for my sweet, winter child. ♥ Basket coiling is very time consuming. @@ Maybe I’ll finally get back into metalwork now that I’m done hauling ass on this and cosplay though. HAPPY ZOMBIE JESUS DAY, KIDS. Least to those who celebrate it.
Tekko photos to come soon! I’ve been busy with another project lately. Trying to weave a basket for my nephew in time for Easter. ♥ My sweet, winter child.
Back during colleging, I was introduced to coil basketry. But I didn't really revisit it more thoroughly until the beginning of this year. Now, I enjoy piecing together different colors and-- depending on how much I'm feeling like a masochist --patterns all in order to pull together basket after basket.
My baskets generally range from being 6"-1' in diameter at the bottom, gradually expanding with each coil to encompass a size that can sometimes be startlingly twice as big depending on the build. Generally, they hit 3-6" in height.
