Going ahead and posting what I have done so far of Dobin’s reference sheets.
A timelapse video of my recent art of Basa City version Rory.
A bit ago, I designed these teapot spirits. Originally, they were drawn with just basona!Rory in mind—since in @tyjiro ‘s Basa City, every human has a companion spirit—but I love them so much, I’m definitely using them for pwca!Rory as well. I might make more later using different kinds of teapots (these ones are dobins.)
Forgot to link this timelapse video here when it went public, whoops. A summery picture of the Basa City version of my ‘sona, plus a teapot spirit.
I drew my ‘sona Rory (usually a pwca fairy) as a human living in Tyjiro’s Basa City (specifically Ke’u Basa). Tyjiro's streams take place in a fantastical city with different boroughs associated with different elements (and of course I picked water), guardian spirits, and east asian and SEA cultures. So far in revealed lore, it looks like every human has a spirit beast companion. Originally I was going to have a rabbit or rabbit-mix animal, but then inanimate object spirits were brought up during a stream, and now I'm considering a possessed teapot spirit, so you may see doodles of that from me in the future. (If you watch the timelapse, you can see me sketch an initial idea.) Stylistically, I tried to make this piece an amalgam of Tyjiro's style and mine, so it looks a bit different than my usual style. And the color palettes are pretty much lifted from his stream assets, so I can't claim credit for them. (They do look nice though, right? A fun change-up from what I normally do.)
