Hah, so according to my dad when we would watch Duran Duran mv’s when I was like a toddler I’d always point at John and say he was pretty so John Taylor I guess.

“Love, your doing great but you need to watch your rhythm, you’re too slow”
“I know John,” you sighed “ but I get anxious and try to focus on the chords and forget about having to keep a tempo.” you frowned looking down at the bass.
Thank God John was so patient with you or else you would be in tears by now, plus there was no way you could learn to play by yourself.
It was silent for a minute till John popped up with an idea.
“What if I tap to the rhythm? Should be almost impossible to miss it then hm?”
“I mean- I guess.” you said unsure, knowing you no matter what, there’ll always be a way to fuck it up.
After a couple of times of doing it with him tapping you finally got it, no mistakes. Now you were sure you could do it without him. It took quite a few tries but you finally got it. Jumping in the air with relief, you happily squealed and John stood up and brought you into a hug.
“I’m so proud of you darling but you do realize that this is only part of the bass riff right.” he chuckled, pulling you to his chest tighter when he heard you groan.
