Roland loved a ball. He'd been very enthusiastically supportive of the idea when they'd talked about it in council meetings and was pleased that finally they were having an event befitting the castle and getting to use the ballroom for its intended purpose. Granted, the Regency period wasn't as flashy as some and was rather more buttoned up and drab compared to what Roland preferred but he'd been inspired by it anyway. White was a good summery colour so he'd decked himself out completely in the colour with gold accents and embellishments attached at strategic points. He'd left his hair down rather than tied back and he'd been rather pleased with the overall effect.
The vampire glided through the ballroom, taking in everyone's outfits and pleased that nearly everyone had fit the theme or at least been inspired by it. Seth's loathsome cambion had missed the point entirely and should be thrown out as far as Roland was concerned. Nothing about that outfit said Regency, especially not the dreadful mask, but Roland had no intention of interacting with the other man and supposed he could accept one small thorn in an otherwise well turned out sea of people. Roland happened to be looking for one particular person within that sea and smiled when he saw the hellhound. He'd made specific suggestions and sent down some particular pieces for the castle to put Bastion in and was very happy with the result.
"I thought the leather would suit you. Clearly I was right." Roland generally assumed he was right but it never hurt to actually point it out so everyone else knew. He took in the outfit slowly and deliberately, satisfied with how the leather hugged a body he'd come to know quite well over the last little while. He leaned in close, tugging lightly at the bow at Bastion's collar. "Sembri delizioso, piccolo lupetto." He stole a brief kiss then leaned back, blue eyes sparkling, his hand sliding down to Bastion's chest. "What do you think of it?"
