BatJunk's own Bat Junk: Part I
So the other day, ifuckinglovebatman was a darling and asked about my own batcollection. I answered as I usually do--
I own way too many Joker shirts. This makes me feel guilty, like I'm letting Batman down somehow. I'm sorry, Batman! Forgive me!
These aren't even half of them, but they're the ones I found pictures of easily. The middle one is one of (implying that, yes, I have more) my shirts from the SHH! boards, when we were all following The Dark Knight viral ad campaign and salivating. Check out the graphics:
Shockingly, I own only one official Batman shirt, and it's a JLA shirt with him and Superman punching out a robot. I don't have a picture because I tend to wear it with a jacket since it's a youth M and too short--since the B-man is lower on the shirt, he tends to get covered up and you can only see Supes, which annoys me.
Wait, I lied. I found a picture:
I also have a Joker totebag I keep my textbooks in on a fairly regular basis. I go to class this way, and I'm usually wearing at least one Batman watch, and I manage to be totally surprised each time someone random mentions Batman to me in passing. HOW DID YOU KNOW? GET OUT OF MY HEAD. D: Seriously, I forget that I'm rocking why-so-serious merch. I am capable of going to school in Batman watch, Joker shirt, Joker bag, etc, and being totally oblivious. That's because it's such a regular event in my life. I should probably worry about this.
I also have a thing for Batman watches and Batman plushies, which I'll cover in another post. Oh, and bat-boxers. I have bat boxers. And I do bat-crafts a lot. Sort of worryingly a lot--like, I just dyed a bunch of shirts yellow so I can make a bat signal stamp and stamp them, in my ample spare time--OH WAIT I DON'T HAVE ANY BECAUSE I USE UP ALL THE MINUTES I'M NOT STUDYING FOR NEURO BIOLOGY OR RUNNING BY BEING ON TUMBLR POSTING ABOUT BATMAN STUFF. I'm wearing a "what would Batman do?" bracelet in the JLA shirt picture, also. Aaand a Batman ring watch in the totebag picture. Yeah. It's a sickness.
Despite the fact that I own a bunch of TDK stuff, my interest in Batman actually began when I first watched the Tim Burton Batman. I was two years old, and I have been in love since. I've seen all the movies; grew up watching the animated series, have played my way painfully slowly through Arkham Asylum, etc.
I also own a fair amount of Batman comics, but I'm currently only following Batman Inc. I don't have anything against Dick Grayson as Batman, but, in this case, Dick just doesn't do it for me.
SPEAKING of, kind of, this is TMI-ing, but I once dated a girl who was pretty obsessed with Catwoman and liked to wear the outfit (yes, yes, before you ask--yes, she liked to wear it during all sorts of things). I also had a boy who tried to woo me with voicemails in a halfway decent Joker voice, but no. Nice try, but no. I also had someone ask me out with a Batman card that I'm going to post here someday--it was signed Batman--and that worked out well, because martial arts+the ability to do complex math on the fly is a very attractive and Batman-y thing to do, so he had my number to begin with. Overall, I would say my obsession is pretty evident in my daily life.
TA DA. That was your meet-the-narrator post! I'm done for now.
WAIT, did I mention that you should all follow ifuckinglovebatman? BECAUSE YOU SHOULD. She's awesome. Also, if you're into pictures of outfits, I sometimes post mine over at squidhearts, but not with any consistency.
