You know I understand when your interpretation of a character differs greatly from that if a big portion of fandom - that’s frustrating. There isn’t as much fan content to enjoy etc. But I get really sad when I see posts just kind of shitting on “fanon” like....go play in your own sandbox and stay out of everyone else’s if you’re going to be like that.
People are allowed to have opinions that are different from yours without them being objectively wrong. Especially in a world like comics where everyone picks and chooses the canon they ascribe to. You can’t shove certain canon material at people and claim “THIS IS THE REAL (blank)!” And then claim that it was bad writing when they did something to support a different interpretation.
You can certainly feel that way. We ALL have felt that way. But what you exclude from comics in the building of your characterization, other people grab onto and they will exclude the things you hold on to. Because we take the things we like about the characters, because that’s more enjoyable. And we all like different things.
So just like, stop shitting on the things people like.
